Europe Tour Summer 2026:
Waking Life, Crato, Portugal
Swansea, Wales
Our Wedding Festival, Želiv, Czech Republic
Good2U Festival, Gorlitz, Germany

Artistic collaboration with Pablo Garduño Takenaga

G4 halogen lightbulbs, 3mm aluminum sheets, nuts & bolts, hand-blown glass.

This year was my second time working on the Praia stage lighting at Waking Life, and our team leader Julian Lietz asked Pablo and I to create custom fixtures. The direction this year was warm, metallic, with a focus on DIY fixtures.

The idea for our customs came about when we rediscovered a large box of handblown glass domes, which were originally from the studio of Marek Silpoch.

The plan was to make something modular which would allow us to build it in Prague & transport it to Crato to assemble it on site. We made 3 separate 80cm fixtures, built to be used separately or together as one continuous line. Each fixture holds 6 glass domes, and inside of each glass dome are 4 G4 halogen light bulbs. The project requires a total of 144 solder joints in order to be able to control each of the 72 bulbs individually. This allows us to use the entire fixture as a blinder, segment it in groups of 4 bulbs to light up each glass piece individually, or make the whole thing sparkle - a capability which we revealed slowly throughout the duration of the festival.

One week after Waking Life, we were invited to exhibit our custom fixtures in Swansea, Wales. This was an exciting opportunity to observe how our lights would be perceived in the context of a gallery. Since the fixtures are modular, we were interested in experimenting with a new composition: a horizontal line across the wall at eye level.
We brought everything from Portugal to Wales by plane, and due to luggage constraints, we not able to transport the glass domes. However it was interesting to showcase the fixtures in a new and raw form.

In July we got married in the Czech countryside and put on a small festival for our friends to celebrate. We placed two of our sunboob customs above the dj booth, this time offset at different angles.

We then brought our fixtures to Good2U Festival in Gorlitz, Germany. They were hung above the dj in the Pavilion stage, a cozy chill out area that focused on ambient and listening music.
